Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist who has been a reporter for over 45 years, focusing on suffering of people in war zones and natural disasters. Curry reported on wars from Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th 1956, Agana American journalist, television anchor and news reporter. She is most famous for her work as a correspondent on the Today show a morning news program that was broadcast through the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was noted especially for her reporting on the humanitarian crisis in war-ravaged countries and on natural catastrophes. Curry's father was a sailor within the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Curry's parents bonded in Japan which is in which her father was stationed following World War II. As a result of her father's military service, the family moved quite a bit. Curry completed her high school in Ashland Oregon. She earned a journalism diploma in 1978 from the University of Oregon in 1978. It's possible that her first exposure to cultures and life experiences have influenced her empathetic approach to how she speaks about global problems. They frequently moved around, and Curry didn't stay in one school for more than two years traveling to various areas including San Diego Alameda Oregon and Virginia. Ashland was the school where Curry earned her diploma. She paved her way for an impressive career when she began her broadcasting career as a student intern at KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon, eventually becoming the first woman news reporter at the station, at age of 22. In Portland the state of Oregon, she was named anchor and reporter by KGW NBC's affiliate. Then she returned to Los Angeles four years later as a journalist for KCBS TV. She was awarded two Emmy Awards during the six years with the station.
